In order to improve the efficiency of road transportation and reduce transportation costs, the organizational forms and methods of road transportation have been continuously developed. Car container transportation (see container transportation), trailer transportation, centralized transportation, etc. have been widely carried out. Trailer transport is to replace ordinary trucks to transport goods by car trains, which can increase the load capacity of vehicles. Automobile trains are composed of tractors or automobiles and trailers, which can be picked or hung between the two, so that vehicles can be flexibly allocated according to needs, and drop-and-hook transportation can also be implemented. Drop-and-hook transport is on a fixed line of one-point loading and one-point unloading, or one-point loading and multi-point unloading, or multi-point loading and one-point unloading, equipped with more trailers than cars or tractors, so as to reach the loading and unloading point When loading and unloading the trailer, the car or tractor can hang up the trailer that has been loaded and unloaded, and carry out shuttle-type reciprocating transportation. Centralized transportation is a car transport unit that transports the goods from one delivery point (station, dock, warehouse, etc.) to many receiving points, or from many cargo points to one receiving point, so that the receiving and shipping units do not have to send people to pick them up Delivering goods saves manpower; it can also rationally dispatch vehicles, reduce empty vehicles, and improve transportation efficiency; and creates favorable conditions for the use of car trains, special transport vehicles and loading and unloading machinery. Due to the small size of the car, there is generally no need to change equipment in the middle. In addition to running along the widely distributed road network, it can also leave the road network and go deep into factories, rural fields, and urban residential buildings. The goods are directly transported from the gate of the origin to the gate of the destination, realizing "door-to-door" direct transportation. This is one of the characteristics that other modes of transportation cannot compare with road transportation.
